    Fixes from the first real upgrade (zekk's box, 2026-11-02/03).

    • Ref pinned end to end: install.sh exports AGENT_BOOT_VERSION before handing to upgrade.sh; an older upgrade.sh can no longer pull a newer install.sh and break the pack step with "unknown option: --seat".
    • Backup survives a live database: tar --warning=no-file-changed --ignore-failed-read, WAL/SHM included, archive verified, plus a consistent sqlite3 .backup of state.db. The du estimate no longer dies under pipefail.
    • Circuit step no longer aborts the upgrade: rc 2 (installed, /healthz not yet answering) and hard failures warn and continue; exit is non-zero with an INCOMPLETE summary.
    • Pack step is gated on /healthz and says "pack NOT refreshed" with the real cause instead of the misleading symlink note.
    • Health wait in the circuit installer is 300s with progress (was 60s) and exits 2 on timeout.
    • The circuit installer never rewrites an existing tangled.service: the unit keeps its EnvironmentFile/Environment/flags, and only an ExecStart pointing at another binary gets a drop-in overriding the command alone.
