  Shutdown is no longer a failure.

  A failed final checkpoint made the daemon exit 1 during an update restart, systemd marked the unit failed, and the updater left it down. The daemon now retries the checkpoint and exits 0 when a checkpoint error is the only one — WAL replay covers it at the next start.

  self-update no longer trusts systemctl restart's exit status: it clears the start-limit counter, polls ActiveState, and recovers a failed or never-started unit with reset-failed + start before reporting the restart done.

  Tangled Circuit release for Linux on amd64 — the full product build (warm Quack and native Lance pools included).

  The archive contains tc, tangled, tc-mcp, and the pinned liblancedb_go.so; the daemon resolves the library from its own directory. Linux/amd64 is the only supported release target. Verify assets with SHA256SUMS and sbom.cdx.json before installation. DuckDB CLI is a separate runtime binary; the installer acquires its official asset through the checksum mapping in release-manifest.json, or accepts a matching pre-downloaded archive for offline installation.
